Specialty crop producers are invited to learn from industry professionals Jan. 8 and 9 by attending the Iowa Specialty Producers Conference at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny. The two-day event will feature keynote speaker Michelle Miller, known online as “The Farm Babe,” with educational breakout sessions both days led by a variety of speakers, including specialists with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

During the keynote session, Miller will share communication tips on how to better amplify what producers do on the farm every day.

How do we better market ourselves, build a following, strengthen our message and build trust? Miller will answer these questions and motivate attendees to feel inspired and more equipped to better utilize the power of their own voice.

Session topics will include viticulture, enology, fruits and vegetables, floriculture, Christmas trees and business and marketing. A full list of sessions can be found at https://www.iowaspecialtyproducers.com/2024-sessions.

The Specialty Producers Conference is organized by the Iowa Specialty Crop Growers Association, the Iowa Wine Growers Association and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, with assistance from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

Pre-registration is encouraged to receive the best rates. The early-bird rate for the full conference is $200 and single-day registration is $110. Reduced rates are available for members of the Iowa Wine Growers Association and the Iowa Specialty Crop Growers Association. Rates increase after the December 15, early-bird deadline.
